Hello! I wanted to start the year off, not just with the release video for A Colorful Life Designs, but also with a project featuring some new goodies from Spellbinders. This card uses the Cloud Nine Embossing Folder, which is the 2D Embossing Folder of the Month.

I started with a great roll-off print I made during a gel printing session. There was a layer of black acrylic paint, then a fabulous rainbow of color made with more acrylic paint. I trimmed the piece down and mounted it onto cardstock, because I needed it to have stability when I ran it through my die cut machine with the embossing folder.

After using the Cloud Nine folder, I applied VersaMark Ink carefully to the raised areas. Then I added detail white embossing powder to the panel. I had quite a bit of static apparently (and yes, I forgot to use my anti-static powder tool), so there was excess powder in a lot of areas. I swiped some away with a brush, but I left a good amount of it because the panel already looked a bit distressed, so I decided to lean into it a bit. I knew the fine grade of the powder wouldn’t really detract from the design.
I mounted the panel onto a white card base (which I actually left white). Then I inked up my sentiment, which is part of the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month from Spellbinders, called Best Year Sentiments, and I inked it with Serene Ink from Catherine Pooler. I layered the die cuts a few times for height and stability. I also added a few Crystal Metallic Wisteria Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs.

This is such a serene card, and I really love how the embossed lines stand out because of the white powder. It’s so dreamy. I can’t wait to share the rest of the Club Kits from Spellbinders with you. Please be sure to visit their shop to see what’s new. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
