Hello! I have a type of card that I hardly ever make… a one layer card! Like a true, single layer card that has nothing added on top of the card base except ink. I just thought that the new Snow Drops Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs was perfect for a card like this. I didn’t even add a sentiment!

I actually had this card base inked with Something Borrowed Ink from Catherine Pooler before I decided on making this Snow Drops card. The color wasn’t quite right for the card I originally intended to use it for, so I just had it in my stash. I used my Waffle Flower Shader 1+ Brushes for the flowers and foliage, and did some very simple masking with Mint Tape. I used Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink for the foliage, and Morning Frost from Altenew for the flowers. I used different amounts of pressure and ink to get a variation of shades for interest.

I thought the card needed some shine, so I splattered it with Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Frost. I thought it gave it a lovely snowy look. You can see just how pretty the shimmer is in the photo above.

There you have it! A simple one layer card that can be used for many occasions. While I much prefer to work with lots of layers and textures, this type of card definitely has it’s place.
