Greetings! I have a card that features the new Life Roads stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. This is a mixed media card which, as you may know, is a favorite thing of mine to create. I had some sheet music I had worked on in my stash, so I used that as my jumping off point.

The sheet music was sprayed with Distress Oxides in Saltwater Taffy, Lumberjack Plaid, and Lost Shadow. Then, I sprinkled on some Distress Embossing Glaze in Crackling Campfire. Since sheet music is large, I have plenty left over for other projects. On top of the sheet music, I applied the Life Roads stencil with Glossy Black Embossing Paste.

I thought a flower would work really well with this background, so I used the Beautiful Day stamp set from Altenew. For the flower, I stamped the outline with VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne. Then I used Memento Inks in Angel Pink, Lady Bug, and Love Letter. For the foliage, I again started with Nocturne, then used Grass Field and Hunter Green Altenew Inks. For this card, I didn’t like the white outline left by the dies, so I used a black marker to color it in on the foliage. My sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studios and was made on black cardstock with gold embossing powder. I used the same powder on the border of my card base.

I really like the interesting combination of elements on this card. The stencil is graphic, but the flower is soft and pretty. The music notes add a unique look to the background, as do all of the ink colors I sprayed. Please head over to the A Colorful Life Designs website to see the thousands of available stencils.
