Cover Plate Shaker- Hugs

Hello! In case you missed my most recent FB Live for Doodles Paper Playground, I’ve got the card we made here. We made a shaker using a cover plate and stamp packaging, plus we created a cool pattern on our top panel with Gelatos. If you’d like to watch the replay, you can check it out HERE.

The Grid Heart Frame from Poppystamps was our jumping off point. I wanted to share how to make a shaker with plastic stamp packaging, and that you could just adhere your cover plate die cut on top, without using a ton of teeny foam pieces. To decorate the die cut layer, we first played with some Gelatos and the Cozy Knit Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. Need some stencils? We used a bunch of Sparkle Blends for this shaker. If you look closely, you’ll see the Pineapple Garden, Shamrock, and Lovestruck Sparkle Blends. The colors all worked so perfectly with that top layer we created. I also added the “hugs” Sugar Script die from Birch Press Designs. My card base, which shows through the acetate, was splattered with a variety of sprays in several colors. Again, the FB Live shows everything.

I love that this card is pretty flat, and won’t require extra postage to mail. There’s plenty of movement, and no real fussing with glue or foam.
