Love is in the Air Blog Hop

Hello! Its time for the Doodles Paper Playground Love Is In The Air, February 2020 Sparkle Blends Release Blog Hop! Unfortunately, Phoenix didn’t have time to finish his, so I’ll give you a sneak peek, and I’ll post the finished card as soon as he’s done. So let’s start with Rhiannon.

In an effort to not write a novel-long post, I will just give some brief info on each of our projects. If you have questions about any of them, please feel free to leave a comment, and I will be happy to reply. Rhiannon’s favorite Distress Ink/Oxide color is Peacock Feathers. So it was absolutely no surprise that she gravitated towards the new Turquoise Sparkle Blend.

Rhiannon drew this heart with a VersaMarker and then heat embossed it with gold. After stamping inside the heart (all stamps are from Stampendous), she sprayed with with Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Gold. As you can see in the photo above, when it hits the light, it really shines.

She stenciled her background and added lots of the Turquoise Sparkle Blend all over. I think it’s a lovely card, and I love that she really ran with the monochromatic color palette.

My card uses the “How You Bean” and and “Conversation Hearts Add-On” stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn, and I filled the jar with the new “Love Hearts” Sparkle Blend. I even have a little hidden message on one of the conversation hearts.

Like Rhiannon, I love to add extra shimmer to my projects. I stenciled a fun pattern with Rose Gold Delicata Ink and I used a shimmer pen on my CZ Design Everett die cut letters. It’s more obvious in real life. I wish shimmer was easier to photograph. I also added a beautiful washi tape from Queen & Co. to the bottom of the card. I think it grounds everything nicely.

I really like how the Love Hearts Sparkle Blend has different sizes and colors of hearts in it, but if you don’t want to use them on a particular card, you can pull them out pretty easily. Now, here’s a sneak peek of Phoenix’s card.

I’ve got to be honest, I don’t have any idea what his plan is. He likes to keep his cards kind of secret until their finished, and i love that. So, we will just have to wait and see! Now, here’s the info on the hop.
