Hello! I have two striking cards today that use the Autumn in Kyoto and the Spring in Kyoto Collections from Alex Syberia and Spellbinders. I really enjoyed making both of these, and I hope they inspire you.

The first card was made with the Autumn in Kyoto Press + Foil & Stencil Bundle. I wanted to make it look like an old photograph, so I stuck to only shades of brown for the entire card. I used a piece of Strathmore Smooth Bristol cardstock and inked the Press + Foil Plate with Acorn VersaFine Clair. This color is a reddish brown, so it was the perfect way to start with the sepia tones I wanted for the card.

The stencil make it so easy to color in each section. I used Distress Inks and one ink from PinkFresh. The colors I used were Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, Pumice Stone (which I added Gathered Twigs on top of), Gathered Twigs on it’s own, and Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks. I used Doe from PinkFresh.

I am so happy with how this turned out. It was exactly what I pictured in my mind.

For my second card, I started by coloring one of the girls from the Autumn in Kyoto Clear Stamp Set with my Copic Markers. Then I used the coordinating die from the Autumn in Kyoto Press & Foil + Die Set. I wanted to highlight her parasol, so I took out the Spring in Kyoto Press + Foil Bundle, which is a full A2 sized plate. I used Nocturne VersaFine Clair on my main panel.

She didn’t stand out enough if I just placed her on the background, so I die cut two arches from the Essential Arches Die Set. On the red panel, I used the same Press + Foil Plate, carefully lining it up so it would match the background, and inked it with Rouge Ink from Catherine Pooler. It’s subtle, but works so well with the rest of the background. The sentiment is from the Autumn in Kyoto Press & Foil + Die Set.

These two cards are really different from each other and they were both very fun to make. Please visit Spellbinders to see all of the latest releases and this month’s new releases. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
