Greetings! I have a Fall card that doesn’t use traditional Fall colors to try and give you some ideas beyond the typical red, brown, orange, and yellow. I use the new Oak Leaves Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs with Distress Crayons (Set 1). But if you don’t like the colors I chose, you can certainly change them to any colors you like.

I took a piece of white cardstock and added a messy layer of gesso to it to create surface that would better hold the Distress Crayons (you can also use Gelatos) and would give the cardstock some texture. Then I rubbed several colors of the Distress Crayons all over the background. Then, I spritzed the panel with water and blended the colors together with my finger.

When that was dry, which doesn’t take long at all, I laid my Oak Leaves stencil on top, and used a baby wipe to wipe away the colors from the exposed areas. This works so well with big, open areas like this stencil has. After I removed the stencil, I outlined the leaves with a black Posca Pen, and added some veining. I tore the bottom of the panel and used a pink ink to highlight the tear. Then, I added a simple sentiment.

I love these colors together, and I thought they worked so well with this stencil.
