Happy Mabon/Autumnal Equinox/Fall!!! It’s the start of a beautiful season where the colors burst from the trees A reminder that change can be absolutely beautiful. I’m using the Cozy Season Collection from Hero Arts today, which is so precious and just purr-fect for Fall.

I used the Kitty Squeezer Die Set to make this adorable black cat holding a beautiful fall leaf. I love just how big this kitty is and the expression of the eyes. This die set comes with a bunch of things that they can hold, including a giant candy corn. You can also use the accessories from the Bear Hugs Holiday Accessories Die Set.
To make the leaf look like this, I die cut it first out of Strathmore Smooth Bristol Cardstock, so that it could withstand lots of wet medium. I sprayed it with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Spray Stain and Lemon Zest Dylusions Spray and dried it with my heat tool. It’s important to mention that I sprayed it on top of a piece of cardboard that has lots of layers of color on it, many that are water soluble, so they come back to life when they’re wet. I dipped the leaf into the wet over spray, not worried that it would pick up more colors. Then I dried it, and repeated the process until I was happy with the results.
I chose a very old patterned paper for my background, and then a sentiment from the Hide and Peek Stamp & Cut. I stamped it onto black cardstock with VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed it with white.
