Hello! We’re at the beginning of a heat wave where I live, so sweaters are absolutely not on my mind, but my card today has the look of an old, cozy sweater… The July Embossing Folder of the Month (2D) from Spellbinders has the look of knitwear, and I was really excited to ink it up and get it onto a card.

As always from Spellbinders, this is a large embossing folder, so you have lots of room to play and get plenty of different looks from the one folder. I chose the section I wanted to work with and rubbed Cappuccino Kaleidacolor Ink on the top side of the folder. Then I ran it through my die cut machine with ivory cardstock. The ink gets pressed into the recessed areas of the cardstock and the raised parts stay ink-free. I cut the panel with my Deckle Trimmer from Tonic Studios and I inked the edges with Gingerbread Ink from Catherine Pooler.

I mounted the panel onto a cream colored card base, which I also inked with Gingerbread Ink. Then I die cut the Thinking of You Essentially Yours Sentiment from Spellbinders. Around it, I added some Satin Matte Copper Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs.

The Spellbinders Club Kits this month are very Winter/Christmas based, but I wanted to show that this embossing folder can easily be used for other things. Please visit Spellbinders to see all of this month’s Club Kits. Some past Kits are available on their site too. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
