Hello! I doubt that anyone actually likes making sympathy cards, but sadly, if you’re a card maker, it’s inevitable. I decided to make today’s card a sympathy card, but you could definitely use this design for other things and change out the sentiment. Spellbinders has released a number of great collections this month, including one called Poppy Song and another is Essentially Yours Sentiments.

I started with a piece of navy cardstock and die cut the foliage from the Leaf and Bloom Die Set many times. Then I used the same die to cut out a lighter blue cardstock. I then die cut a piece of white cardstock from one of the Playful Stitched Panels Dies. I filled in the spaces of the navy cardstock with the lighter blue, placed them all on top of the white panel and die cut it with the same Playful die again. It took a little time, but I love the end result.

I used more of the Leaf and Bloom dies to add some flowers to my focal panel. The Layered With Sympathy Dies were cut from white and navy cardstock and adhered on top of the focal panel. I wanted some more texture, so I used the Favorite Song 3D Embossing Folder. I took white cardstock and inked the front side of the folder with Summer Sky Memento Ink and ran it through my die cut machine. It’s very subtle, but it makes the notes stand out even better. I added everything to a white card base.

I think this came out really lovely, and it’s perfect for many types of occasions, not just sympathy cards. Please check out all of the latest releases from Spellbinders. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
