Hello! I made this card for my son, who is away at college, for Valentine’s Day. I miss him a ton and I thought it would make him smile. The Sending Hugs Collection from Simon Hurley and Spellbinders was perfect. I used the Darling Dog Die Set for his birthday, and today I used the Congrats Cat with some of the die from Darling Dog.

I die cut my cat out of 2 shades of gray cardstock. His headband is from the Darling Dog Die Set and I cut it out of foiled red and gold cardstock, so it’s nice and shiny. The sentiment is also from that die set and I added an additional red filed heart to ground it.

For my background, I used the Love Waterfall Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I inked it on pink cardstock with Rouge Ink from Catherine Pooler. I inked the edges of the panel and my sentiment with Gray Denim Ink from Altenew, but this is a discontinued color. I splattered on some Bleed Proof White from Dr. PH Martin’s, and than added an Action Wobbler to the back of the cat so that he jiggles around.

This card came out so cute, and my son thought so too. It was perfect for Valentine’s Day when I couldn’t give him a real hug myself.
