Hello! I have another card today using one of the Block Print Zodiacs from Spellbinders, and this time I’m using my husband’s zodiac which is Taurus. This collection is so cool, I love the subject matter, and the style.. They make such perfect birthday cards, and since the BetterPress is so easy to use, you can make cards with them pretty quickly.

I chose a Gel Press monoprint from my stash that used acrylic paint and baby powder. I really loved the colors, and thought that this block print style would stand out really well on it. I backed the piece with cardstock, then used Twilight VersaFine Clair Ink with my BetterPress Plate. Because I used acrylic paint on this monoprint, the ink could “slide” around on it, so I heat embossed it with clear powder to make it permanent. I did the same with the words and dates on a small piece of a monoprint, cut it out, and added it to the panel.

I cut a mat of green cardstock that would only show on the top and bottom of the focal panel. Then, I added a roll-off print (a print made by cleaning off the paint that was on my brayer) to my card base. I wanted some additional texture, so I added some medical gauze between the base layer and the green mat.

This made a really good masculine card, but truthfully, you can use it for many folks born under the Taurus sign. I love the variation of colors from the prints and the gauze really makes it interesting. Please check out the rest of the Block Print Zodiac Collection from Spellbinders. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
