Hello! I’ve been using the All About Christmas Collection from Lisa Horton and Spellbinders since it came out a few months ago. I particularly love the Bow & Bell Scallop Frame Die Set, because there are several wonderful dies that can be used year-round. I used 2 of them in yesterday’s post, in fact! My card today is rustic Christmas, and I got to use some patterned paper.

The scallop frame die was cut with a brown plaid paper, and on top of that I layered a distressed red polka dot paper. Since the scallop frame is much smaller than an A2-sized card, I knew I wanted to use a brown card base, but I wanted to add some texture and shine. I grabbed the Golden Sand Embossing Powder from Stampendous and applied VersaMark Ink around the edges of the base before sprinkling the powder on top and heat setting it. I like that the edges of the powder are imperfect.

To finish off the card, I stamped and cut a sentiment from the Merry Sentiments Clear Stamps & Dies Set (and used more patterned paper on the shadow layer of the “merry.”). Then I added the bow from the frame set. I used a dark green cardstock and did a wee bit of coloring with a Copic Marker.

I really like all of the layers that are on this card. I didn’t use any foam tape though, so it’s still nice & flat. I love mixing patterned papers too, so this was a lot of fun to make. You can make this same card with completely different papers for a totally different look. Please be sure to visit Spellbinders to see the latest releases. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
