Greetings! I have a holiday card to share today that uses the Melting Chevron Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I also got to use a roll-off print I made during a gel printing session.

I chose this roll-off print because it had a lot of greens in it, which is of course perfect for Christmas. I adhered it onto white cardstock, because I typically use copy paper for my prints, then I laid the Melting Chevron Stencil on top and used a gold embossing paste to get dimensional shine. I kept the panel a full 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.”

The Big Tidings Die Set from Tim Holtz and Sizzix was perfect for this background because it’s bold and whimsical. I die cut the Joy out of 2 colors of green cardstock, and I inked the top layer a bit with the edge of my Weathered Wood Distress Ink Pad, to break it up a bit. The green was just too flat otherwise. Then I added a few of the elements in that die set to finish it off.

I love how bold and fun this card turned out. Anytime you have a roll-off print or a monoprint you don’t love, add a cool stencil on top, and I bet it will look better!
