Hello! One of my favorite styles of Christmas cards to make is what I like to call Rustic Elegance. Lots of natural qualities with a whole lotta glitz. It’s fun to combine these two styles into one, and I am always happy with the results. For this card, I used the October Embossing Folder of the Month from Spellbinders for my jumping off point.

I rubbed Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink onto the smooth side of the Embossing Folder. Then I ran it through my die cut machine with Kraft cardstock, which transferred the ink to the cardstock. I did this twice to get good coverage. Then I cut the panel on a diagonal. This not only gives me the start of a cool layout for my card, but allows me to get 2 cards out of the 1 embossed piece.

Next, I inked up my card base with Cashmere Ink from Catherine Pooler. This is a warm neutral that works beautifully with the Kraft cardstock. Then I flicked on some Desert Sand Fireworks! Spray from Imagine. I cut a strip of glittery cardstock to be a transition between the focal layer and the card base. I added a sentiment with Pinecone VersaFine Clair Ink from the Clear Stamp & Die Set of the Month, and then I adhered a few sequins in shades of brown.

This card came out so pretty, and I love that I can easily create a second card with the other half of the embossed panel. Please be sure to visit Spellbinders to see all of this month’s Club Kits. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
