Greetings! I have a bold Christmas card to share today that uses the Lacy Snowflakes Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. There are actually 2 snowflakes on this 6×9 stencil, but I just used one of them repeatedly on top of a monoprint.

I had a Gel Press print that was made with acrylic paint, that I thought would work really well with the snowflake. I inked it with Paradise VersaFine Clair, and it looked nice, but it needed to stand out more. So I heat embossed it with Lapis Embossing Powder from Stampendous. When the light hits the powder, it shines beautifully.

I chose a sentiment from Concord & 9th’s Holiday Sayings Die Set because they’re big and bold. I cut the focal layer out of a deep coral, almost red color. Then I used white cardstock for my shadow layer, which I inked with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink, because it coordinated so well with the snowflakes. For more shine, I added a few Luminous Peach Sherbet Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs, and I inked my card base softly with Saltwater Taffy Distress Ink.

This type of Christmas card may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I really love it. Making funky Christmas cards is so much fun, and I think this is a really happy card.
