Hello! The pointy hat is a witch’s most iconic part of an outfit. Think about all the witches you may have seen, and how many of them donned one of these on their heads. Hero Arts came out with a glorious die set called The Witch’s Hat, and it’s big! Plus, it comes with some great accessories.

My first version is very earthy. I went with a rich brown hat and made the bow look a bit like burlap. I added a few flowers (these come in the die set) too. I did a bit of ink blending to give the hat and bow some dimension.

I added the woodgrain paper from Spellbinders’ Autumn Archive 12×12 Printed Paper, which really added to the look I was going for. My sentiment is from Hero Arts’ Spooky Season Letterpress Foil + Cut Set. The sentiment was inked with Pinecone VersaFine Clair Ink. I added some Peeled Paint Distress Ink to my card base, and Opaque Iridescent Vanilla Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs.

Let’s check out my next card, which is perfect for the witches that adore the night.

I went for a deep purple hat this time, and a pretty green bow. My background was made with a gel print, and I stamped on top of it using the August Cling Stamp of the Month from Hero Arts. I used Sage Ink from Catherine Pooler to get a subtle text, almost like an incantation on that spooky print. Villanious Potion Distress Ink was blended on the edges to create a vignette effect. I also used my Starry Colors watercolors from Kuretake to add some gold splatter for more magic.

My sentiment on this card is also from Hero Arts’ Spooky Season set. I used Monarch VersaFine Clair Ink to stamp it, and Uncharted Mariner to enhance it. I used more Sage ink from Catherine Pooler on my card base, and added a few Satin Matte Navy Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs.

I love how both of these cards came out. They have very different vibes…and I really like that by just altering the colors and backgrounds, you can really change things up. Please visit Hero Arts to see all of the latest releases. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
