Greetings! The August 2025 Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders is perfect for anyone that loves fish, the sea, mermaids, etc. I’m sharing two cards today that both use this die set, but I have totally different looks because there are so many dies to play with.

For the fish card, I die cut a bunch of the pieces in the set, plus the clown fish that is in the Deluxe Caboodle set. I did a bit of ink blending with Tutti Frutti, Lime Rickey, Green Tea, and Garden Party inks from Catherine Pooler. I also used Charcoal Suit from Altenew, and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. I die cut many of the components before I knew how I was going to place them, so that I had lots of options for my layout.

I used the Sea Foam Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs to make my background. I used Oh Boy + the residual ink that was on my blending brush for that. I created the ground with some Kraft cardstock, and I splattered Rich Cocoa Fireworks! Spray on it. I used more residual ink for my card base.
For my mermaid, I again die cut a bunch of pieces and did some ink blending. Forgive me, I misplaced my notes that tell me exactly which colors I used, but as always, I encourage you to use what you have. I did use a few colors of Lindy’s Magicals from Lindy’s Gang on the mermaid herself to give her some beautiful sparkle. You can see the shine in the photo below.

I decided to use the Embossing Folder of the Month as her background. I used a blue shimmery cardstock from My Colors, which I ink blended with blue to create more of a vignette look. On my card base, I used a Pretty Pink shimmer pen from Scrapbook.com. On both cards, I used foam strips for various dimensions.

I LOVE how many components there are to this die set. It’s so much fun to create these scenes…and I didn’t even use all of the dies on these two cards! Thank you so much for your kind words!
