Greetings! One of my favorite flowers in the hydrangea, particularly when it’s the Nikko Blue color. I was excited to receive the new Hydrangea stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. It’s a 6×9 stencil with the components separated out, so there’s no need to mask anything.

I decided to tuck the hydrangea into the corner of my focal panel. I inked the flowers with a combination of Speckled Egg, Tumbled Glass, and Shaded Lilac Distress Inks. The stem was done with Gathered Twigs and the leaf is Shabby Shutters.

I wanted to add some texture to the card, so I embossed the panel with the Layered Vines Embossing Folder from Simon Says Stamp. I inked the edges a bit with some more Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I chose a sentiment from Spellbinders’ February Clear Stamp & Die Club of the Month and inked it with Very Peri VersaFine Clair Ink. I kept my card base white.

I wonder if the embossing folder i used takes away from the stenciled hydrangea. I’m on the fence about it, but overall, I think it’s a pretty card.
