Greetings! I love when A Colorful Life Designs has layering stencils because you often don’t need to mask anything and many times the layers are all on one stencil. This is the case with the Layered Poinsettia. It’s a 6×9 stencil that is easy to work with.

I sifted through my many Gel Press prints and found this one that had a bit of a distressed look and some interesting colors that I thought would work with the poinsettia. It was made on copy paper, so I adhered it to a piece of cardstock to make it more sturdy. Then I inked the Layered Poinsettia using Spruce, Avocado (for the center) and Strawberry VersaFine Clair Inks. I wanted some shine, so I heat embossed the flower with clear embossing powder.
Behind my focal layer, I added an old piece of green patterned paper from Bo Bunny. I love the distressed damask pattern with the bold poinsettia. I also added a sentiment that was stamped with the same Strawberry VersaFine Clair Ink with the Home for Christmas Sentiment Press Plates & Dies from Spellbinders. I also added some metallic splatter with Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz from Imagine.
I love that this card has a bit of a grungy look, but it’s still elegant and pretty. Please head over to the A Colorful Life Designs website to see the thousands of available stencils.
