Hello! Today’s card was made using one of my favorite techniques to do with Lindy’s Magicals from Lindy’s Gang. Plus, I got to use one of my favorite stencils from the September release from A Colorful Life Designs. It’s called Spooky Web, and it really lends itself beautifully to this technique.

First, you really need to spray the back of the stencil with Therm O Web’s Pixie Spray. It’s important to keep the stencil secure so that when we do this very wet technique, the water and color doesn’t seep under the stencil. Press the stencil into your paper/cardstock either with your hand or a brayer. I’m using Strathmore’s Smooth Bristol cardstock.
Lindy’s Magicals are a highly pigmented powder, often with shimmer in them that allow you to create beautiful effects with a wide variety of techniques. For this technique, start with a DRY brush (I prefer to use a fan brush) and tap a small amount of the powder onto your paper. I used 2 colors from the Haunted Halloween set; Screamin’ Banshee Black and Tainted Teal. Now, you’ll see that there’s actually a lot of different colors showing, and that’s because each of the Magicals are made up of lots of colors. Once we’ve got enough powder on our panel, we can carefully spritz it with water to make the magic really happen. I then use a round or filbert brush to push the color around and make sure I have good coverage all over. I let the panel dry completely before I remove my stencil.
My sentiment is from an Ellen Hutson sentiment set and I heat embossed it with a sparkly teal powder. I decided to turn this into a full panel shaker, so I covered the panel with acetate and filled it with Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs. I used Black Iridescent, Crystal Metallic Mermaid, Opaque Iridescent Dark Purple, and Crystal Metallic Ice Queen. If you’d like to see exactly how to make a full panel shaker like this, I’ve got a YouTube video on the process HERE. I didn’t want to keep my card base white, so I painted the border with more Tainted Teal Magicals.
I LOVE how this turned out. All of those fabulous colors, and that amazing Spooky Web make for a perfect Halloween card. It’s a very relaxing process too.
