Greetings! I’ve got a card using the new Glittery Skull stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. It’s of course great for Halloween, but I can see myself using it all year round. I’ve got lots of friends that would love getting a card with this design.

For the skull, I used a glittery purple embossing paste from Brutus Monroe. This exact one isn’t available, but there are plenty out there to choose from. I did this on Scrapbook.com‘s Black Mixed Media Paper. After the skull was dry, I trimmed the panel down with my Deckle Edge Trimmer from Tim Holtz and Tonic. After that, using a Mini Ink Blending Tool, I applied some Dusty Concord Distress Oxide to the edges to give a smokey look to the piece.
I found an old, shimmery cardstock in my stash that was practically the same shades of purple on my card. I die cut the Boo from the Tim Holtz & Sizzix Vault Gothic Portraits die set 3x to give the sentiment dimension. Twice was just out of black cardstock…no need to waste the good stuff! I inked my white card base with VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne and adhered my panel to it.
For a simple design, I think the card has some spooky punch. I really like the wispy ink around the edges. And this stencil is so rad.
