Hello! I am really excited to share a project that uses part of the newest collection from Vicky Papaioannou and Spellbinders. The collection is called Tunnel Scapes, and it’s made up of beautiful layering dies that help you create amazing scenes with depth. Today I am using the Tunnel Clouds Dies Set to make a triple layer shaker. It took some time, but it came out so cool.

I love using patterned paper in interesting ways, and I thought that subtle patterns would be really fun for the clouds. I grabbed a couple of Lawn Fawn patterned papers, including Spiffy Speckles and used the clouds to die cut them. I started off with the lightest patterned paper and worked my way to a darker color, though none of it is really dark. I used Spiffy Speckles for the sun too, which I also did a bit of ink blending with Scattered Straw Distress Ink. The back layer was just a piece of paper I had in my stash that coordinated well.
I added acetate and 1mm foam strips from Scrapbook.com to each of the layers. Then I filled them with sequins. The first layer had an assortment of clear that I had in my stash. The next layer also had clear, but I added Opalescent Maui Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs. The third layer I did the same, and added Crystal Opaque Atmosphere Card Bling. So again, each layer got a little deeper in shade. If I were to do this again, I may use a thicker foam tape so that you could really see the layers, but I just wanted to experiment with this first card. Also, I used the Shine Brightly sentiment from Tim Holtz’s Noteworthy stamp set on the bottom layer. I heat embossed it with Hero Arts’ White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. It’s subtle, but really pretty.
Truthfully, I didn’t even turn this into a card. I am planning on either hanging it up, but I will more likely keep it near my desk so I can shake it once in a while. Seeing all of those layers and all of that shine may really help me to focus and get some mojo back when I’m missing it. I will have many more projects using the new Tunnel Scapes soon. But for now, you can visit Spellbinders to see the entire collection. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
