You’re Magic: Airy Swirls Mid-Month Inspiration

I have some 12×12 pieces of cardboard (that is found under scrapbook paper when a pack is opened, for extra support) that I use when I use sprays. A lot of color accumulates on this large pieces, and I don’t like for it to go to waste. So, I’ll occasionally spritz them with water to reactivate the various colors, and then I’ll dip cardstock into them. This is the result of one of these times. You can see there’s lots of color and a ton of shimmer. It’s even prettier in person.

I really didn’t want to cover this background up, so the Airy Swirls stencil was just perfect for it. I used some (very old) gold embossing paste and applied it through the stencil. The paste gives a low profile texture that really shines against that dark, swirling background.

To add more shine, I die cut my sentiment with the Be Bold Lowercase Alphabet and Numbers die set from Spellbinders out of a foiled gold cardstock. I painted the edge of my card base with a turquoise shimmer mister from Deco Art. Unfortunately, this is no longer available.

I really love all of those rich layers of color with the metallic gold. It reminds me of photos of different galaxies in outer space.
