Sweet Birthday: House Mouse

Hello! everyone on the planet has a birthday once a year, so it’s always good to have birthday cards at the ready. And when you use House Mouse stamps? Most people can’t resist the cuteness, so you’re sure to make a fabulous card they’ll remember for years to come. I used Sweet Birthday for this card, which is one of the newest House Mouse sets available through Spellbinders.

I stamped the birthday mouse with VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne, then colored the scene with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and Altenew’s Dual Tip Pen sets. Here’s the breakdown.
Skin: 064, 071, 072, 230
Fur: 094, 097, 099, plus Nimbus from Altenew’s Zanzibar Dual Tip Pens
Cake: 062 and Paper Bag, Peach Perfect from Altenew’s Islands of Figi Dual Tip Pens
Icing: Hydrangea from Altenew’s Tahitian Terrace Dual Tip Pens
Candles: Rubellite and Coral Berry from Tahitian Terrace
Dish: Sea Breeze (Islands of Figi) and Dew Drops (Zanzibar)
Hat: Emerald, Sea Breeze, Grass Field, and Bamboo from Islands of Figi
Ground: Silver Stone from Altenew’s Hawaiian Shores

I die cut the panel using one of the plain rectangles from Spellbinders’ Hemstitch Rectangle Dies, but I kept the die in place after cutting. I ink blended the panel with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, then removed the die. This gave me a clean, thin white border around the edge of the colored panel. I stamped on of the accompanying sentiments with Nocturne ink. To add more color and fun, I matted the House Mouse with a diagonal rainbow plaid patterned paper from Lawn Fawn. I kept the card base white, to help make the thin border around the House Mouse stand out.

This card came out so adorable. I really enjoyed combining Altenew’s Dual Tip Pens with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. And you can’t go wrong with a fun plaid! That’s it for me today.
