Hello! I have a bold card to share today that uses the Rocky Path stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. This stencil reminds me of terrazzo tile, and I think it’s really cool. We’re doing a few techniques on this card, so keep reading to learn more.

Originally, I wanted to make a monoprint with this stencil. It didn’t work out how I wanted, and if you look on the right side of the card, you can see the outline of the negative spaces from the stencil. But I didn’t want to throw my monoprint away, and I kind of liked the subtlety of the stencil in the background. So I grabbed Charming Pink VersaFine Clair Ink and applied it through the stencil, on the left side of the panel. This looked good, but I wanted more pop. So I embossed it with a neon pink embossing powder from Brutus Monroe. That gave me the look I was going for.
I needed some serious shine, so I cut some strips of holographic cardstock and glued them behind the panel, leaving the corners open for an extra detail. On my card base, I used my small Tim Holtz Brayer to apply Distress Inks in Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, and Picked Raspberry. I used one of the Perfect Sentiments from Pinkfresh Studio (inked up in Warm Breeze VersaFine Clair) on top of it all.
I love how that hot pink pops off of the blue. And the holographic cardstock is even more amazing in person.
