Hello! I was going through the thousands of stencils available in the A Colorful Life Designs shop, just looking for some new-to-me stencils to play with, and I came across Crescents. I thought it was so cool, and I had to have it. I knew immediately that my first project with it would have to be using Deco Foil from Therm O Web, and this is what I came up with.

On a piece of gray cardstock, I used Therm O Web’s Transfer Gel Duo with the Crescents stencil. Once it dried completely, I placed Therm O Web’s Black Deco Foil on top, and ran it through my heated laminator. It has such a fantastic shine! You’ll see some texture in my crescents, but that’s because I didn’t do a perfectly smooth application of the Transfer Gel.
I didn’t want to cover up any of the crescents, but I wanted a sentiment, so I found an old one from Sassy & Crafty (no longer in business) and heat embossed it with copper embossing powder on vellum. I also wanted a really interesting border on the card base, so I used Aged Black Frantage Embossing Powder from Stampendous, which has a mix of black and metallic powders in it. When it’s heated and melted, it’s thick, shiny, and absolutely gorgeous.
I wish you could see just how much shine is on this card. It’s clean and simple (for me), but it’s really impactful with those bold, black crescents.
