Furever Friends

Hello! Let’s take a break from holiday themed cards. It can get a bit overwhelming sometimes, right? Instead, here’s a sweet card you can give to a friend. I’ve used 2 stencils from A Colorful Life Designs plus some sweet critters from Mama Elephant.

I started with the 16 Square Shadow stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I thought the size of the squares was perfect for fitting critters in. I inked 4 squares on cream cardstock with Distress Oxides in Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint, Stormy Sky, and Saltwater Taffy. It was so easy to color each square individually because you get the masks for each square! So I simply taped in the squares around the one I was inking, and I didn’t have to worry about making a mess of my colors. My critters are from Mama Elephant’s Lunar Animals stamp set, which I colored with Copics and fussy cut out. My sentiment stamp is an old one from Sassy & Crafty, who is unfortunately no longer in business. I tore the bottom edge of the cardstock and inked it with Antique Lined Distress Oxide.

For my background, I used a piece of Lawn Fawn’s Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper and ink blended on top of it using the Go This Way stencil, also from A Colorful Life Designs with the Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint, and Stormy Sky Distress Oxides. I inked my card base with Antique Linen Distress Oxide.

Because the 16 Square Shadow stencil also comes with the masks, it was really easy to get perfect squares of color that didn’t blend into the other colors.
