Star Points

Hello! Today’s card is full of texture and fun colors. It uses the Star Points stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (code AlFan10 to save 10%) as well as the Angled Mosaic Embossing Folder from Altenew. This is a mixed media card, which is one of my favorite kinds to make.

I was filming some of my #MonoprintMondays and I had a couple of prints that came out cool, but didn’t have enough impact to be one of my YouTube Shorts. I really liked this print in particular, but the plant life I tried to “capture” in the print, really didn’t show….but I wanted to use it anyway. It was done with acrylic paint on a 3×5 Gel Press. On top of it, I inked the Star Points stencil with VersaMark Ink, and then heat embossed it with Distress Embossing Glaze in Villainous Potion. I trimmed the piece with my Deckle Edge Trimmer.

I love the bits of orange and gold peeking through the monoprint, so I wanted to add more of those tones to the card. I grabbed a piece of light yellow cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine with that Angled Mosaic Embossing Folder. It looked amazing, but I wanted more pop. I carefully rubbed the high points with Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide and a Mini Ink Blending Tool. I love the end result! I inked the card base with Salvaged Patina Distress Ink. My sentiment is from the Happy Thoughts stamp set from A Colorful Life Designs, which I stamped on a yellow patterned paper.
