Greetings! I’ve got a holiday card to share today that uses one of the new stencils from A Colorful Life Designs. The stencil is called Dangles, and it can be used for a ton of things, but I immediately thought of Christmas. This was a fast card to make, it’s easy to reproduce, and you can use some patterned paper!
I took a piece of patterned paper form Miss Kate Designs‘ “North Pole” pack. I thought that gold embossing paste with the Dangles stencil would be pretty striking. I carefully applied the paste to the patterned paper and set it off to dry. Meanwhile, I worked on my focal point, which is a layered bell stamp from Altenew’s Bells & Bows set.
For the bell, I first inked it with Altenew’s Maple Yellow, the second layer was Maple Drizzle, and the final layer was Moon Rock. The bow was first inked with Barn Door Distress Oxide, then Fired Brick Distress Oxide. I fussy cut the bell and bow, though there is a Golden Glitz Delicata Ink from Imagine. Everything was adhered with Bearly Arts Glue.
I like how festive this card is, yet it’s also simple. This is a great way to use up lots of holiday patterned paper, just be sure that the pattern isn’t too overwhelming for the stencil. Instead of a bell, you could use an ornament too, just make a die cut circle and give it some shading. Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see the many, many stencils they have to offer. You can use my code, AlFan10 to save 10% off of your regular-priced purchase.
