Greetings! Today’s card uses an older stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, but it’s one that is so perfect for mixed media projects. It’s called Grains, and it looks like many small brush strokes. I love that they aren’t totally uniform, and they are the perfect little “somethings” when you need some additional chunky marks on a project.

I had a piece of watercolor paper that I painted with Fireworks Spray in Bahama Blue and Dandelion, plus Sheer Shimmer Spray in Rose Gold. After it was dry, I tore the edge and applied the Grains stencil. I used Turquoise Sea Glitz Glitter Gel from Gina K Designs and Therm O Web, which is such a fantastic color. I let that dry completely. Meanwhile, I stamped 3 hexagons from the CZ Designs and Simon Says Stamp set called Hex Yeah. It’s retired, but I still use this set a lot. You can use any geometric shapes you like for this part. I stamped them with Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers, and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxides. Then I die cut all 3 of them.
I found a really old patterned paper from Daisy D’s (do you remember them?) and used that as my background. I inked the edges of my card base with more Worn Lipstick, and die cut the Brushed Hello out of holographic cardstock.
There’s a lot going on with this card, but I don’t think anything is too overpowering. I really like these colors together, and if you’ve followed me for a while, you know how much I love mixed media cards.
