Hello and Happy November! It’s release day at A Colorful Life Designs and there are 26 new stencils! It’s got major holiday and winter vibes, but many of the stencils can be used all year, such as the one I used today. It’s called Pile of Presents, and it’s going to get a lot of use in my craft room.

I decided to go with just a general birthday theme for this card, though you can of course customize of the gifts to suit any holiday or occasion. I chose several colors of Distress Ink, and ink blended them over my stencil, which I had applied Pixie Spray to, to prevent the stencil from shifting. I used Worn Lipstick, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, and Wilted Violet.
My sentiment is part of the Pinwheel Party die set from The Greetery, which I cut out of a teal cardstock. Then I applied a bunch of clear, opalescent sequins all over the panel. I decided I didn’t want to keep the border on my card base white, so I found some washi tape that has a watercolored look to it, and applied it around the edge of my card base. The colors worked perfectly with some of the inks I used.
Cards like this are great because they are fast to make. It took very little time to put this together but because the stencil is so bold, it has a lot of impact.
