Greetings! I love glow in the dark things. Little figurines, stickers, shirts, even cards! My card today has a very cool glow in the dark element that is really cool. I used the new Lightning Bolt stencil from A Colorful Life Designs to make a spooky card that really glows when the lights go down.

I began by pasting the Lightning Bolt 3 times on some paper with Glow in the Dark paste from Brutus Monroe. It doesn’t seem to be available anymore, but Lawn Fawn has one HERE. Once the paste dried, I sprayed the paper with water and started applying Tainted Love Teal powder from Lindy’s Gang (use code P6GKPI07KTCTAV to save 10%). I’ll be honest with you. The paper I used was crummy, and the Magical Powder did NOT like it. It looked terrible at first. So, I kept adding more and more layers, allowing the wet powders to dry in between layers until the color built up enough for me to be satisfied. I cannot stress enough that paper choice is so important.
As that layer was drying, I colored up a stamp from Brutus Monroe with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and cut it out. I also stamped out my sentiment which is from Ellen Hutson’s Hocus Pocus stamp and die set with Twilight VersaFine Clair Ink. When my background was dry, I used a silver marker to highlight the lightning bolts. Ready to see how it glows???
Seriously, how cool is this?! The card wasn’t even in complete darkness! It’s crazy how bright they glow, and I love it.
Although there isn’t a lot going on with this card, the elements that are there are impactful. Those layers upon layers of Lindy’s Magicals are fun to shift in the light to see the varying colors. The lightning bolts have dimension. And the stamped image is pretty cool. So go get your glow on and give this a try!
