Hello! I have a cat sympathy card to share today. None of us like making sympathy cards, I would assume, but they are necessary. It’s so important to show love to those that have lost a family member, co-worker, and yes…a pet. The new Kitty Pals stencil from A Colorful Life Designs is perfect for this, and I used it in a different way than I usually use stencils.

Pro Tip! I chose one of the cats from the Kitty Pals stencil and traced it on to black cardstock, then cut it out. This is much faster than trying to ink up a panel in solid black, using embossing paste, or embossing powder. Plus, for someone like me that has to be careful about how much they use their arms/shoulders/hands, this was a great way to protect my joints.
My background was inked with Dusty Concord, Broken China, and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Inks on Smooth Bristol Cardstock. After that, I took the Bitty Rays stencil and spritzed the back of it with Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle. Then I placed the wet side on to the background and pressed the stencil into the cardstock so that the shimmer would transfer and start to oxidize the ink. I let it sit for a few minutes before I pulled the stencil up. I added a sentiment from Stampendous with VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne.
Emotionally, it’s never easy to make a sympathy card, but the recipient will be so grateful. Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs if you’d like to shop for incredible stencils.
