Hello! Thanks for visiting today. I’ve got a card to share that’s part of the Doodles Paper Playground and A Colorful Life Designs collaboration that’s happening all month long. I used a combination of the Surf’s Up stencil with the Tropical Sparkle Blend.

After spraying the stencil with Pixie Spray, I applied it to my Smooth Bristol Cardstock. I inked up the sun with shades of yellow from Altenew’s Pocketful of Sunshine Mini Ink Cube set. I kept it darker towards the center and got lighter as I worked my way out. For the sea, I used Salty Ocean and Salvaged Patina Distress Inks.
The Tropical Sparkle Blend has some really beautiful colors in it, but the base is mostly shades of yellow. I decided to pull out individual sequins from that Blend (and an older Blend that had similar yellows in it so that I didn’t deplete my Tropical Blend) and adhere them to the center of the sun with On Point Glue. I wanted to do something fun with the edge of my card base, so I used Sparkle Puff embossing powder from Stampendous to mimic sea foam.
This was a simple card to make, but I think the intricacies of the stencil, plus all of the individual sequins make it really interesting.
