Hello! I have a funky card to share that uses one of the newest stencils from A Colorful Life Designs, called Mid Century Party. I fell in love with the retro vibe of this stencil, and I know it’s going to get used quite a lot by me.

I started off by using 3 colors of Chroma Glaze from Brutus Monroe. I spread them with a palette knife, being careful to not mix the colors together too much. As it was drying, I went to work on my shaker. I have this rad lava lamp stamp from JudiKins back from when I owned my scrapbooking store. I have used it many times, and it makes for a great shaker. I stamped it a few times with Radiant Neon ink in Electric Pink and fussy cut it out. I used an X-Acto knife to cut out the interior. For my bottom layer, I decided to ink up the same Mid Century Party stencil so that it looked like you cold see through the lava lamp. I could have just mounted it on to the background, but I was concerned about the sequins catching on the Chroma Glaze. I used Prize Ribbon and Rustic Wilderness Distress Inks.
For the shaker bits, I pulled sequins from the Flutter By Butterfly and Twilight Meadow Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. I also stamped the word “chill,” (also from JudiKins) on a piece of vellum with StazOn in Plum. I also added a few other sequins directly on to my background. For my card base, I painted on some Pear Tart Fireworks! Spray.
I love the vibe of this card. The Mid Century Party stencil is such a great background. Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see the hundreds of stencils that are available.
