Hello! I have an awesome stencil to share with you today. It’s called the “Milky Way Stencil” and it’s from A Colorful Life Designs. I love the movement of this stencil and the complexity of the design. It’s really unique.

For the start of my background, I took a piece of glossy photo paper and ink smooshed some Spun Sugar and Twisted Citron Distress Oxides on to it. I did a couple of soft, subtle layers and let it dry. Next, I buffed it with a dry cloth to remove the oxidation and bring out the shine of the photo paper. Then I took my stencil, temporarily adhered it to my background with Pixie Spray, and inked it with Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide. I buffed that when it was dry too.
I added a sentiment from Tim Holtz’s Bold Sayings stamp set with Spiced Chai StazOn Ink. I needed to use StazOn (Archival Ink would have worked too) because of the glossy photo paper. For my card base, I inked the edge first with Twisted Citron Distress Ink (so that it was nice and bold) and then with Pinecone VersaFine Clair Ink.
I think this card came out really cool. This stencil is so fun and graphic. It’ll work for anyone. And again, the movement you get from the “Milky Way Stencil” is very cool.
