Greetings! Today I am sharing a card that uses the January Sketch Challenge from White Rose Crafts. The January Sketch Challenge is open from January 1st to January 25th. Limit maximum 3 entries per person. We will randomly pick one participant to receive a $15 White Rose Crafts e-gift card. Please feature something sold on the WRC store site in your project. If you’re not sure if you have something… take a look in the shop… you may be surprised. https://whiterosecraftsllc.com/. Then, you can upload your project to the WRC Fan Page on Facebook HERE.
Here’s my take.
I started off with the Craft Creations Die Cut Decoupage sheet called “Goldfinch in Cherry Blossom.” There are so many wonderful images that you can layer or keep separate. I will be able to make several more cards out of that 1 sheet. Anyway, the square image of the goldfinch was perfect as a jumping off point for the sketch. For the other 2 squares, I used a piece of Metallic cardstock in Mountain Rose (it is so shimmery in person!) and a piece of green plaid cardstock from Lawn Fawn’s Perfectly Plaid Rainbow Petite Paper Pack. The sparkly strip uses Lawn Fawn’s Pixie Dust Sparkle Cardstock and a piece of forest green cardstock from my stash.
My background was created directly on my white card base using Distress Oxides in Worn Lipstick, Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron, and Antique Linen. I took all 4 colors and rubbed them on to my craft mat, sprayed them with water, and dipped my card base into the colors. I did this a few times, drying the ink layers each time with my heat gun before dipping it in again.
I added a piece of American Crafts ribbon, a heart from the Goldfinch decoupage sheet, and some “Bells are Ringing” Sparkle Blend.
This was a fun sketch to work with, and I hope you’ll join in! Remember to add your photo to the album I linked at the top of this post. And be sure to visit the White Rose Crafts LLC shop, a/s there is still a BIG sale going on (through 1/8/2019) ! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
