Greetings! Today I am sharing a card using the new Winter Blizzard 6″ x 6″ stamp from Stampendous, along with a couple of their new word dies. This stamp is unique not only because of it’s size, but because it has a large snowflake that you can pop out and use on it’s own, or as I did here, by using the rest of the stamp to leave room for a sentiment.
Here is a look at the full stamp.
Let’s dive in to how this card was made. I sprinkled a bit of Turquoise Brusho Color Crystals on to my white cardstock. I then spritzed the cardstock with water and watched the color appear! I swirled the cardstock around a bit and then started to heat set it with my heat gun. I would stop and start the heat gun continually, so that I would get some darker edges here and there where the colored water would pool. Any areas that had too much water I would pick up with a paper towel.
Once the background was dry, I stamped the Winter Blizzard stamp with VersaFine Clair ink in Twilight. I also made my card base out of navy colored cardstock. Then, I die cut my sentiment, which is from the new Christmas Bright stamp and die set. I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers in Crystal to add some glitz to the words. But then I decided, after I glued them on, that the whole card needed some more sparkle. So I sprayed the entire card with Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Frost. You can see the glimmer pretty well in my photos above. It’s even prettier in person. For just a little more shine, I added a few sequins from Doodles Paper Playground’s Snow Cool Sparkle Blend.
I enjoy working with large background stamps such as Winter Blizzard. How about you? Do you use them in their completed form or do you crop them down. I’d love to read what you do in the comments below. Please be sure to visit the Stampendous Blog to get more information about these stamps, as well as catch a brand new video from Fran. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
