Greetings! I am very excited t be participating in this year’s Stamptember from Simon Says Stamp. I was given a free set of new and exclusive stamps to work with, and what a fun set it is! It’s called Amazing Messages and I will be using it quite a bit. My children will too. In fact, my daughter used the set before I had a chance to. 😉 I’ll be sharing her card within the next couple of days.

I stamped the image on to Canson Mixed Media Paper with VersaFine ink in Onyx Black. I colored it in with Zig Clean Color Markers and cut out the image with a loose border. I tend to color things without thinking much about the completed project. I typically just let loose and color, and then find out what works to finish it all up later. This card is no different. After I colored the image in these sort of sun set colors, I knew I had to break out my Distress Oxide inks and create a similar look with them.
Also on Canson Mixed Media Paper, I blended Abandoned Coral, Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, and Spiced Marmalade with my Ink Blending Tools. Then I sprayed the paper with Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle from Imagine. This adds beautiful sparkle to the background without adding dimension. I blotted off the excess after letting it sit for a little while and heat set it to speed up the drying process. I didn’t want to keep my edge straight, and I don’t own any “wonky” rectangle dies yet, so I used an old acrylic block that I have that is wavy, traced it, and cut it out. This added a bit of fun to the background. Next, I stamped out the rest of the sentiment and embossed it with Detail Black Embossing Powder.
I created my card base with Kraft cardstock, cut to 5 1/2″ x 8″ to create a top folding card. I added a striped layer of Doodlebug paper, and glued down my layers. I colored in the exclamation marks with my clear Wink of Stella pen, and I added a few drops of Rose Water Nuvo Drops.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
