Greetings! This month, the Artists in Residence are working with the theme, “M is for…” so I decided to go with M is for Mom. Mother’s Day is almost here, and my mom (thankfully) loves to get my homemade cards, so I figured I’d make a card that was very well suited to her. My mom loves all things steampunked. She is so cool. She loves texture and neutrals and gears…and well, all the stuff I put on this card!
I started off with the Gears Stencil and the Vintage Creative Medium and let that speak t me about what to do next. I knew the Vertigo would be a fun way to spell out Mom, and inking it up with StazOn helped it to stand out more. I didn’t ink the Vertigo completely, but varied the amount of ink I used on the letters to give some more visual interest. I used assorted shaded of brown ink, some ultra fine glitter and Fireworks! Spray for some shine.
