Hello! The Imagine theme this month is “Books” so I decided to do something I love to make….bookmarks! They’re fun, simple to make, totally customizable, and useful.
Supplies:
Imagine:
Memento Markers
Memento Ink Pad in Tuxedo Black
Other:
Sweet Stamp Shop: Book Club
Xyron: Creative Station with Laminating Cartridge
Stampendous: Mixed Media Paper
Acrylic Stamping Block
Twine/Ribbon
Hole Punch
Directions:
1. Begin by cutting Mixed Media Paper to your desired size bookmark. Stamp the images with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
2. Color the stamped images with Memento Markers. I love how blendable these markers are, yet they dry pretty quickly. They’re perfect for quick coloring projects of all kinds. The stamps I used are all about books, and there’s a stamp in the set that allows you to write out the info about a specific book. Being the Twi-Hard that I am, I decided to make my first bookmark about Twilight. The fact that you can rate the book, as well as write out the dates you’ve read it, makes for a fun keepsake.
Here’s my second bookmark, which I just made generic. I colored it in with my Memento markers as well.
3. I want my bookmarks to last, so I laminated them with Xyron’s Creative Station. Now they are sturdy and protected. I then punched a hole in the top of the bookmarks.
4. Choose some coordinating ribbon or twine, and when you’ve decided how long you want your tassels, cut the twine to twice the desired size. Fold in half, and push the looped end through the back of the bookmark to the front, as shown in the photo above.
Grab the ends of the twine, and pull through the loop. Pull the ends to tighten the loop. The bookmark won’t rip because of the lamination.
Ta-da! Your bookmarks are complete! Now, go read a book!
Skill Level: Easy
Time to Complete: About 15 minutes per bookmark
Thank you so much for your kind words!
