Hello! Welcome to a fun filled week of mixed media with the Stampendous team! We are super excited to be hopping along with Tando and their fantastic chipboard products, perfect for altering and combining with stamps, stencils, etc. There are of course, great prizes! To win, comment (with where you live) on all of the blogs listed, to have a shot at 3 prize packages. Full details are on the Stampendous Blog.
Would you like to see what I made? I worked with Tando’s Mini Printer Tray and Stampendous’ Cling Winter Tweets stamps and Die sets. Plus lots of Deco Art paints and mediums, as well as inks from Imagine.
I painted a few layers (including a crackle layer) on to the cover of the tray. I used a random piece of cardboard and Fitted Frame “V” for my tag, along with lots more layers of paint and sprays, including turquoise Shimmer Mister from Deco Art. It matches my hair perfectly! If you visit my Instagram, you’ll get to see what I mean. Anyway, after I was satisfied with the layers of the tag, I used VersaMark and Detail Gold embossing powder along with the new Quiet Beauty stamp. I added a few small brads just to the tag for decoration. I adhered the tag to the base with foam squares. The pretty shimmery ribbon is from Creative Impressions.
For the inside, I coated the entire thing with a Deco Art glitter paint. There’s a 4×4 chipboard piece that goes under the “window” and I used the accompanying stencil that comes with the Winter Tweets set to create the tree and berries. I inked the stencil with VersaMark and used Clear Bark and Ruby Red embossing powders. I stamped the sweet cardinal on watercolor paper and colored it with my Faber-Castell Aquarelle watercolor pencils. I also used the Wood Background stamp on the top layer of the”window.”
It’s hard to tell, but I added some clear acetate between the top and second layer of the window, to make it really look like one. The effect in real life is pretty cool. My family was impressed at least. 😉 I also used the Picasso Stencil/Shield to make clouds in the background. I used Summer Sky Memento ink for that. I kept it really soft, as winter skies are often kind of bleak…but I really wanted to add some additional depth to the background. It is so much fun to make pieces like this, and I hope you will check out what I will have in store for the finale on Friday. Please be sure to visit all of the stops that are listed below for your chance to win one of the prizes. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

I love all these chip board pieces being feature, they are all awesome as are the stamps. Cardinals are my all time favorite bird and the sweet cardinal stamp would make the cutest Christmas cards. Love the water color technique you used as well. It gives it a nice soft effect. Beautiful! 🙂

Such a beautiful scene you've created Alison and I love the colour of your hair on Instagram too! I was a little worried you'd coloured it with the DecoArt mister at first. As always when I visit your blog I leave well and truly inspired. Many thanks for the fab inspiration and fab blog hop Karen x
