Greetings! I am beyond thrilled to share this post with you today. I was asked by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff (owner and artist of Aurora Wings) if I would be the Guest Designer for their latest challenge!!! I was so surprised and totally honored. Aurora Wings is absolutely one of my favorite stamp companies. There was no way I could say no. The challenge is “Anything Goes” so I hope everyone plays along! I created 5 (yes 5!) 6×6″ mini pages showcasing some of her magical little Sprites.
First up, is Aster. But, this is actually a Sunflower Sprite. I decided to change it up because, although I love sunflowers, the vibrant purple of asters are really magical.
She is colored with watercolor markers, except for her skin which was done with Spectrum Noirs. All the skins on the Sprites are done with them. You may click on any of my photos to see them bigger.
I will be making a mini album with all of these pages, and adding more as I color more of these sweeties.
Fuschias are one of my favorite flowers. The vibrancy of their color, their unusual color combinations, and the unique shape of the flower makes it easy for me to love. And I just realized that I spelled it wrong on my page. That’s gonna have to get fixed!
Next up is the Marigold Sprite. I LOVE the face of this one.
I just love the Day of the Dead face! This is another flower I really love to grow. It’s a staple in our garden.
Just like the 2 previous Sprites, I colored this one with my watercolor markers. The ovals behind the Marigold are Long Nesting Oval dies from Dreamweaver.
I used some Halloween paper for this page, to go with the theme of the image. On to the Poinsettia Sprite!
The leaves on this image was done with Spectrum Noirs, as was the skin. The flower and gift was done with my watercolor markers. I may change the lettering on this one….the marker I used was a little too fat. But I wanted to use gold. I may write it in black, and go over it with Stickles.
I opted to not go with the traditional red for the poinsettia, but instead with the more Victorian mauve. My mom always decorates the house Victorian for Christmas, which is where I got the inspiration.
I used a gold doily to fancy up the page a bit more. Last but certainly not least, the Strawberry Sprite.
I can’t even tell you how much I adore this digi. I just love it. And I loved coloring it (well, all of them really!).
I used Spectrum Noirs for the reds and skin. The rest is watercolor markers. I also used my Dual Alphabet Dies from Dreamweaver for the name.
Thank you for making it to the end of my super long post. I hope you have enjoyed my mini pages. I also hope that you will join in with the new Aurora Wings Anything Goes challenge. You have a month to play along! Thank you again to Mitzi for asking me to be a guest. Have an inspiring day, everyone!
