Welcome! It’s time for another super busy Wednesday! I have 3 projects for you today. The first is for Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge. The theme is Beautiful Blooms and we are sponsored by DRS Designs.
I love daffodils. They are always so cheery. I decided to go with the more unusual coloration of white and pink, instead of the more common yellow or orange and white. I have some pink and white daffodils and they are just beautiful. I colored the image with my watercolor markers.
For Bombshell Stamps, this month’s Hump Day Hop theme is “Gilded, AKA Metallics.” I had fun with this one!
I started off with the Lucky Me horseshoe from the Lucky Bride set. I colored with with watercolor markers, and a couple of metallic markers.
Then, I pawed through my Dreamweaver Stencils to see what would work well with this stamp, as I knew I wanted to use one of their fabulous embossing pastes. I went with Copper Paste and the Art Nouveau Bkg. The stencil is actually much bigger then the small portion I used. And actually, I was originally going to make an ATC, but I was telling my son Phoenix about how I would need to trim it, and he said, “I wouldn’t want to waste all of that. It’s so nice.” I agreed, and he suggested making a card. Ahhhh…my Boy the Designer!
I added some IrRESISTables from Imagine Crafts, then thew some super fabulous glitter on it while it was still wet. Some Stickles on the Diamond from the image added even more sparkle. Id’ say this was pretty “gilded,” no? Here’s the rest of today’s Bombshell Hop list.
For my 3rd project, I have another card. It’s for the new A Step in the Dark challenge, which is Steampunk. I got to play with a fantastic Rick St. Dennis image. Check it out.
This fancy chap is named Jarrod, and I think he’s great. I colored him up with pencils, which didn’t photograph as well as I would have liked for some reason.
I know that Steampunk usually has muted toned down colors, but Jarrod was just begging me to be in jewel tones…and I think it suits him. My background was done with the wonderful Gears stencil from Dreamweaver. I used their Gold Embossing Paste this time. You can see the difference in color between the copper in the Bombshell card above versus the gold in this one. There is also a silver paste as well as a lovey pearlescent. You’ve got to try them!
I know this picture really does Rick’s image no justice, but I wanted you to see the dimension and sheen of the paste, as well as the sheen of my background cardstock. It’s even better in person. Please be sure to visit all 3 of the team’s blogs to see even more wonderful projects. For now, I will bid you adieu. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
