Hello Blog Land! Today I have 2 new projects to share with you. I needed to take a few moments and just play….just make a bit of a mess with very little criteria. And I plan on playing some more this weekend.
I am excited to share with you that I will once again be a Guest Designer over at the Dream it UP! blog for Dreamweaver Stencils. I am so thrilled and honored to have another opportunity to work with such a talented team. And what’s more, is that I am a GDT in October! My favorite month of the year! It’s going to be fantastic! So, in honor of my total excitement over this, both of my projects today feature Dreamweaver Stencils. The first is to go with their month-long challenge of Christmas in August.
I used the beautiful Fleur de Lis Stencil for my focal piece. I used black Embossing Paste (from Dreamweaver) to get a raised image. Then, I sprinkled Dreamweaver Metallic FX in Kimono Red and Ivy Green on top of the wet paste and let it dry.
You can see the pretty dimension and shimmer here. I had this little wooden oval in my stash, so I painted it, stamped on “25th” plus the swirls, and glittered in up with embossing powder. I used the same powder on the edge of my card.
For my other project, I made a tag. I have been having a lot of fun making these lately, and this one came out really pretty.
I started by inking my tag with various cool-toned dye based inks. Then, I used Silver Embossing Paste along with the HUGE Leafless Tree stencil. Obviously, I only used a small portion of the tree, as the full tree is almost the size of my hand!
I was going to leave the tag as-is, but I thought it needed a little sparkle. So I wet embossed some glitter embossing powder around the edge of the tag, and along some of the branches. This tag kind of reminds me of a snowy Winter’s morning.
Can I just mention that it is really hard to photograph glitter? Trust me, it’s there. If you click on any of my pics, you will see it bigger, and then see the glitter a bit better. I hope you have enjoyed my projects.I will have plenty more Dreamweaver projects to share with you even before my GDT spot begins again. I just love all of their products. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
