I went to Baltimore with my family this month for a Pampered Chef conference. That was pretty rad, but there was no way I was going to be in Baltimore and not visit Edgar Allan Poe’s house and grave. I took a mess of pictures at each place. Unfortunately, I didn’t actually get in to his house. Someone currently loves there, and the visiting hours are short, and didn’t work with the time I was actually at the house. Plus, Poe’s home is in a pretty unsafe neighborhood (so says the cop that just happened to be parked in front of Poe’s house). So, since I had the fam in the car, we decided it best to beat feet and visit the grave. The cop said that was a cooler place anyway, and he was right.
My husband couldn’t find parking, so I went in solo. Turns out I wasn’t the only Poe fan there that day. They kindly took some photos of me in certain spots, and I them, but the shot I have on the layout below I took myself. It’s at Poe’s original grave site. He has been moved to a different locale in the graveyard. To read all of the truly fascinating details, check out this site HERE.
On to my project. It just so happens that this month, Smeared and Smudged dedicated all of their challenges to Edgar Allan Poe. What a coincidence! So, though it is the end of the month, the month is not yet over, and I found a few moments to do their scrapbook sketch challenge.
It’s altered a bit from the original sketch. But not much. I think I need a title in the blank grey area, but I didn’t want to change too much from the sketch. I also didn’t journal yet, which is so unlike me. Perhaps it’s because y daughter was screaming like a banshee, and I could hardly concentrate on gluing. The full moon is today, ya know!
It goes without saying that I had to use Smeared Ink’s “Quoth the Raven” set for this. 4 images in total. But again, I think I need a title. so I may add the “Nevermore” image somewhere.
I haven’t made a scrapbook page in what feels like forever. It felt good, and I want to do more. Maybe when the kids are…dare I say it…in school?!?!?!?! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
