Greetings! I am very excited, as I have a new Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls challenge to share with you. Here’s what Betty wants everyone to do:“ Today we are challenging you to Alter it! What’s "It"? Anything! You decided what you want to alter and make IT altered! Pretty simple right? Anything goes, but alter it and of course give it that Burton creepy twist! Today’s winner will be April’s Guest DT! You will have two weeks to create and upload your project.”Sweet deal, right? It’s been forever since I’ve altered anything, and it’s been on my very loooong list of things to do. So I had a stash of these frames, and I decided to work with one of them. Burton tends to work with either black and white, with minimal color, or he uses the entire, vibrant rainbow. I chose to go with the rainbow for this! I painted the frame in a putty color, and then I stamped my Sugar Skulls from Bombshell Stamps (with StazOn)all over it. I had to re-touch a few of the skulls and flowers, so I used a black Zig marker from EK Success. I was rushing the process, so I didn’t stamp it properly. After I finished that up, I took 5 colors of Distress Ink, and smeared them across the frame, one at a time. Last, I embossed the hell out of it with Judi Kins’ Amazing Glaze. Gods, I love that stuff! Needless to say, after I colored it, I showed it to Phoenix….my partner in crime creativity. He fell in love with it and asked if I would give it to him. And that was before I put the Glaze on! When Rhiannon woke up from her nap and saw it, she said she wanted it too! I’m happy my children like my work! 🙂 I gave it to them, I just have to add their photos to it now. Now it’s your turn to alter it! But first, head on over to the BtBD’s Blog to see what the rest of the DT has cooked up. Then, join us! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!Pin It

Love it Alison! the colors are wonderful! So blended but separate. You have pretty fabulous kids who know beauty when they see it!
