I am so happy to share with you a card made from the latest set of Smeared Ink stamps I’ve received! The Holy City, and I LOVE it!!! It consists of photos of cemeteries and churches, plus a couple of wonderful crows! Here’s my first card using this incredible set. I stamped the main image on white cardstock and then colored in the image with chalk. I love the soft look the colors have…there’s no definite edge of one color or another, they all kind of blend together. Here’s a close up.
This card reminds me of Salem (I’m saying that a lot lately aren’t I?). There are some beautiful cemeteries there, and I always love to visit them and just spend some quiet time there. This image really takes me back to those memories…
The background image is also from Holy City. It’’s a window from a cathedral. I inked the window in Black Lightning Brilliance Ink from Tsukineko… it’s gorgeous. It’s black with a metallic gold in it. I embossed it and then I inked the edges of the card in Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I pop-dotted my cemetery and then wrote “sleep…” in a metallic black Sakura pen. I think this card is very tranquil. I don’t find it to be morbid. What do you think??? Have an inspiring day!
Very tranquil indeed. Sometime I'll share a cemetery story or two with you.
Oh, this is a freaking COOL card!! Awesome!
Gorgeous Alison!! Very serene. You did an amazing job. The muted colors are perfect and so tangible!! Simply divine.

Stunning! Love all the detail in the image and how you brought out just a few areas with color.

I LOVE this card! The image is sublime and the subtle addition of color gives it a very surreal look. Plus the handwritten sentiment in the corner is the absolute perfect way to finish it off! Gorgeous!
