I am so happy to share with you a card made from the latest set of Smeared Ink stamps I’ve received! The Holy City, and I LOVE it!!! It consists of photos of cemeteries and churches, plus a couple of wonderful crows! Here’s my first card using this incredible set. I stamped the main image on white cardstock and then colored in the image with chalk. I love the soft look the colors have…there’s no definite edge of one color or another, they all kind of blend together. Here’s a close up. This card reminds me of Salem (I’m saying that a lot lately aren’t I?). There are some beautiful cemeteries there, and I always love to visit them and just spend some quiet time there. This image really takes me back to those memories… The background image is also from Holy City. It’’s a window from a cathedral. I inked the window in Black Lightning Brilliance Ink from Tsukineko… it’s gorgeous. It’s black with a metallic gold in it. I embossed it and then I inked the edges of the card in Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I pop-dotted my cemetery and then wrote “sleep…” in a metallic black Sakura pen. I think this card is very tranquil. I don’t find it to be morbid. What do you think??? Have an inspiring day!

I LOVE this card! The image is sublime and the subtle addition of color gives it a very surreal look. Plus the handwritten sentiment in the corner is the absolute perfect way to finish it off! Gorgeous!
