It is time for the 2nd StampInsanity Challenge! This challenge is to make “something that holds something.” So, basically an altered piece. Cool! I have been itching to do some altered work! I was seriously inspired by my new friend Nicole Maki, who had posted this AMAZING tutorial… I had to try it! Click HERE to see it for yourself! So mine came out quite different. It’s really just an interpretation of what she did. But, that’s kinda the point of art right? To take what you see and make it your own? Wow! That thought totally fits with the one I used on my project!!! I plan on trying my hand at Nicole’s tut another time (doing it her way!), but for now, please take a peek with what I made for today! I used one of the sentiments from the Les Coquettes collection: Criticism is easy –the art is hard. So true!!! But, I had a blast making this, even if I am still combating this flu-ish nonsense! Wanna see what it looked like originally? Yup, I’ve made a project with this canister before! I just love ‘em! They are a fantastic size for holding markers, brushes, scraps o’ paper, you name it! And I have so many of them ‘cause Rhi loves ‘em! So I wrote all over the can. Stuff like “Make cool Shit” and Lil Miss Scare All (Type O shout out!). Stuff that meant something to me. I honestly wanted to get more graffiti on there, but with the way I have been feeling, I was worried that I wouldn’t even have a project for today. So, I’m happy with what I was able to do. I used Glimmer Mist, Stickles, some chunky glitter from Terra, the movie section of the paper, Mod Podge, and a crap load of markers. Oh, and some acrylic paint. I really wish that I had some bubble wrap… but that will be for the next time I make graffiti! So, there you have it! Please visit the rest of the Groovy Gurlz to see what crazy things they came up with!!! Jennifer Jeri Lisa Margie Sarabeth Suzi Tonya

This is awesome. LOL – I especially like the "Make Shit" part. I got a good giggle from it.
It really thrills me that you were inspired by my tutorial. I never consider them a success until someone gives it a go – so thank you so much.
By the way, the link to the tutorial is broken. You have two http:// at the front of the URL.
Love the colors you used and the edgy urban feel – great job!

Love it, especially the graffiti! I haven't bought those little snacks in years. My kids are growing up way too fast.
I save those Crystal Light tubes and made a piggy bank out of one for stamp money. I gave it to a chick in my blog group for our secret sister swap. So, I have several saved up and plan to make more of those to put all over the house–I find change EVERYWHERE. I'm afraid to stick my hand under the couch to look for change…last time I did I pulled out a carrot fossil. It was so weird looking that at first I thought it was a turd!LOL I dropped it real quick. I saw a bit of orange in one spot and remembered my older daughter on the couch eating a raw carrot a really long time ago, so I figured it was safe to pick it up without a glove. LOL

OMG! Annie always cracks me up with her personal stories! LOL
Anywho, I love this!! I am so bad about saving stuff to alter and never doing it. Such fun grafitti – glad you're not the type to edit *shit*!!
